Welcome to the best ranked top 10 most effective plant-based vegan protein powders!
Vegan Protein Explained
One largely known and often times controversial notion that surrounds veganism is that plants can’t supply all of the necessary essential amino acids (EAAs) required for optimal bodily growth and repair. This notion is, at its core, false – but there is a catch. While most plants do in fact contain the necessary EAAs to make up a complete protein, they simply lack the vast & diverse quantity that animal-sourced EAAs can provide.
So, for most people, the best way to fulfill their daily protein intake is by eating animal-based foods, like dairy and meat. But the unfortunate truth is that those sources aren’t always the most agreeable options. At the same time, however, obtaining the right amount of protein is vital for optimal bodily function and repair. After all, protein is one of the primary building blocks of your body, so it’s important to replenish its stores.
That being said, we’ve outlined the 10 cleanest, most healthy plant-based protein supplements down below. You’ll find only the highest quality supplements hand-picked from a selection of hundreds. So, whether you’re getting a full-body workout, have a casual relationship with your treadmill, or are just looking for a healthier, vegan-friendly alternative, there’s no doubt our ranking can help you reach your personal goals.

They help the body breakdown foods more efficiently, thereby improving micro & macro nutrient bioavailability.
Moreover, this low-calorie all-in-one supplement comes in two historically classic flavors to choose from – Chocolate & Vanilla. Baking – A great way to up your protein intake is by adding protein powder alongside a baked goods mix. It’s an efficient way to disguise your protein allowing you to consume it without having to barely taste it!

#2 Nuzest Clean Lean Protein
Developed by Nuzest with a more lightweight approach towards ingredients, you’ll find Clean Lean Protein (CLP) isn’t just any protein powder. Arriving with 20 servings of only 3 ingredients per canister, Nuzest CLP offers a simple, low-carb solution to healthy vegan protein gain. Moreover, Nuzest’s European Golden Peas are organically grown and harvested in the nutrient-rich fields of Northern France. Often seen as the most potent of vegetables, Nuzest’s Golden Peas offer all nine Essential Amino Acids (EAAs) necessary to provide a complete user protein experience. Also, unlike other sources, Golden Peas are 98% digestible. Essentially, this means your body can utilize nearly all of Nuzest with ease.

This was surprising because Pea Protein is notorious for tasting ‘earthy’. Needless to say, Nuzest CLP was one of the few vegan proteins we could enjoy, rather than just tolerate. The Bottom Line
The main reason most people choose to get a protein supplement comes down to personal circumstances. Potential Vegan-friendly Protein Supplements Under Review
#11 Nutiva Organic Hemp Protein
Nutiva only has one ingredient to offer – organic hemp protein, and a lot of it. Each bag of Nutiva’s hemp protein contains 45 servings of protein at 15g of protein per serving, which is pretty amazing. It maintains its vigor through ‘Cold Processing’, all without the use of nasty solvents. Most of all, Nutiva’s hemp protein is practical.
#12 MRM Veggie Elite Protein
MRM Veggie Elite’s plant-based vegan protein left us with quite the experience. There were a few, strong reasons why we ranked it at #12 that we just couldn’t overlook. The first shortfall was taste. Veggie Elite tasted sub-average and dissolved poorly, even fully blended. We also noticed multiple types of gum fillers, Natural Flavors, and even 340mg of Sodium. As always, we’ll continue regular checkups in case of ingredient revisions.
#13 Evolve Protein Powder
Evolve’s vegan plant-based protein powder made it onto our ranking for a few reasons. We really like Evolve’s price point, which is great considering its serving size – making it useful as an entry level powder in its current state. Another plus was its fiber content, but in terms of flavor and mixability, it could definitely be improved. We also noticed a couple unfavorable ingredients, but we’ll keep our eye on Evolve in case it reformulates.
#14 PlantFusion Complete Protein Powder
Plant Fusion introduced an interesting plant-based protein powder to the market. What we like its serving size and protein blend, although, the same can’t be said for a few things. It had an odd taste and also had a chalky consistency. Not to mention the 270mg of sodium, which is a little excessive compared to others. We’ll routinely check back for any ingredient revisions that stand out and update our review as necessary.
#15 Garden of Life Raw Organic Protein
Raw Organic Protein, developed by Garden of Life, is a popular organic plant-based protein powder among vegans. Unfortunately, due to what appears to be a dishonest reformulation and rebranding of their protein powder, it’s been demoted to #15 on our ranking. We’ll continue to monitor the situation for any positive supplement changes.
