The Mass Making Ingredients
Going further, Pro Gainer defines itself with its large variety of effective ingredient blends. Each one plays host to its own unique selection of ingredients that work together collegially to improve total supplement effectivity. With that in mind, let’s dig deeper and find out exactly what features Pro Gainer has to offer over other similar weight gaining supplements.
High-Quality Protein Formula
Each serving of ON’s Pro Gainer offers 60 grams of seven different types of dairy and egg proteins, each providing its own varying rate of digestion, full amino acid profile, as well as a high biological value (BV). This allows for an easily absorbed and digestible formula, making it a great choice for promoting sustained lean muscle mass growth and repair.
Carbohydrates & Fats Complex
ON’s Pro Gainer comes heaped with 85g of carbohydrates and other energy-dense nutrients, such as lipids and MCTs (medium chain triglycerides). They help fulfill some general athletic nutritional requirements, resulting in an overall decrease in body fat and an increase in lean muscle mass.
Full Spectrum Micronutrients Blend
Another great addition to Pro Gainer’s ingredients list is the inclusion of 26 different vitamin & minerals. Each individual nutrient fulfills its own unique supportive role in the body, but collectively help provide the proper ‘fuel’ you need to hasten recovery, growth, and simply function at peak levels.
Digestive Enzymes Support
As many of you know, there’s a near infinite quantity of ‘mediocre’ mass gainers available today. Sadly, because the products tend to utilize substandard proteins and contain next to zero enzymes, users may experience digestive discomfort. Optimum Nutrition negates this problem by combining their protein sources with the two enzyme blends Carbogen & Aminogen. This practice helps prevent any type of digestive issues while also further enhancing your body’s capacity to absorb and appropriate each nutrient.
How Should I Take Pro Gainer?
According to the label’s suggestions, add one serving (1 heaping scoop) to a bottle with 16oz of cold water and shake it until the powder’s thoroughly dissolved. Although, if you’re in need of additional calories, you can opt to use milk instead of water. In terms of when you should take Pro Gainer, that’s entirely up to you. To achieve the best results, we suggest taking it in-between meals. However, Pro Gainer can be consumed any time that fits your schedule as your body will ingest the nutrients anyway – even before sleep.
Pros
• Optimal carb to protein ratio
• Easily digestible ingredient formula
• Decent micronutrient blend
• Low in sugar, fat, & cholesterol
• Solid overall price point
Cons
• Contains artificial sweeteners
• Above average amount of sodium
• Average quality protein blend
Is Pro Gainer Safe To Take?
For the vast majority of people, absolutely! However, there are a few exceptions where you shouldn’t consume Pro Gainer. If you’re pregnant or nursing, consult your doctor/physician first before use. Also, Pro Gainer isn’t technically recommended for use by people under 18 years of age. For those with allergens, it should be noted that ON’s Pro Gainer contains Milk, Egg, Soy (lecithin), and Wheat (glutamine peptides).
Serving Size Profile
As it stands, Pro Gainer is available in two different weights – a 5lb tub and a 10lb bag. The only difference is the serving size. The 5lb tub holds 14 servings worth of powder. The 10lb bag provides 28 servings of powder – double the volume of its 5lb counterpart. Each serving represents one scoop, which equates to roughly 165g of nutrients. If used once every other day the 5lb bag will last about a month. Moreover, if your body requires a higher intake of more than 1 scoop every other day, consider using the 10lb version instead.
Bottom Line
In the end, Pro Gainer impressed us on a multitude of fronts. We particularly liked its easy to digest protein blend and (more importantly) how much value it offered at its price point. Although, it should be noted Pro Gainer does contain artificial and natural flavors. This notice mainly applies to those who try to avoid such ingredients. Beyond that, we believe ON’s Pro Gainer is well suited for use as an entry-level/intermediate effective mass gainer without any of the common discomforts often felt from other supplements.
